Get into the summer spirit with Kids' CBC KidSummer 2006 July 5 and 6.

The free two-day event features performances from the characters who appear on Kids' CBC including Lunar Jim, Patty Sullivan and Clifford. The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre (CBC) in downtown Toronto, is hosted by Kids' CBC host Joyce Quansah.

Visitors on July 5 will get to see tot-rock music sensations The Doodlebops.

In addition to meeting some the Kids' CBC hosts and characters, kids can also visit the storytelling corner, create puppets of Kids' CBC hosts Dot and Paws and have photos shot at the Kids' CBC picture-taking centre. The event is part of the KidSummer series taking place across Toronto throughout July and August.

Registration is not required.

And to kids extra ready for summer, Toronto Community News and Kids' CBC offer the KidSummer Prize Pack contest. The prize pack includes a subscription to Today's Parent; Kids' CBC red kid-sized T-shirt; a Doodlebops gift pack that contains a DVD and CD plus a colouring book; a Lunar Jim gift pack, which includes a poster, blast-off bandages, magnet sheet and booklet; a Curious George book; a Kids' CBC magnet postcard and sticker; and an Invest in Kids magnet. The gift pack is valued at $75.

To enter the KidSummer Prize Pack contest, kids seven and under must send in their first and last names, date of birth and age, a parent or guardian's first and last name and written consent, the children's address and the parent's daytime telephone number and answer to this skill-testing question: What is the name of the tot-rock sensation band playing at the event?
